The clear thinking and inspiration are one of the
benefits of walking outdoors are well researched. Combined with the benefit of coaching side-by-side as opposed to facing each other, these hiking and coaching sessions (tailored to your ability) integrate these 5 to 6 hour coaching and hiking session delivers both benefits.
I have over 30 years experience of hiking and I'm currently working my way around the Wales coastal path. If you'd like to join me for a day of coaching and hiking here is a proposed itinerary is provided below. Hiking and Coaching can also be arranged in other parts of the UK is this is more convenient for you.
Whether visiting me in West Wales or hiking in another part of the UK, the programme includes bespoke pre-work to ensure you maximise this opportunity.

Proposed Itinery
(hikes can be arranged in other areas of the UK)
- Travel to Aberystwyth by train (approx 3 hours from Birmingham) or car, with some pre-work to consider on your journey on one of the most scenic train journey's in the UK (if not the world!).
- Either stay the night at one of the seafront hotels in Aberystwyth or meet me at the train station by 11am at the latest.
- We then commence a 6 mile walk along the
Wales Coastal Path from Aberystwyth to Borth (you'll need hiking boots and outdoor clothing to deal with any inclement weather).
- During our hike, which takes 3 to 4 hours depending on speed and stops, we can have a coaching session to explore the issues, challenges or opportunities you are exploring. We will stop for a packed lunch.
- The walk finishes with a descent into Borth (see the glorious picture above), where we visit a coffee shop to draw the coaching to a close.
- Return home on the train from Borth, perhaps via Aberystwyth (12 minutes away) if you have luggage to collect, or stay another night and enjoy one of the many excellent eateries in Aberystwyth (I can provide recommendations)
Equipment Check List:
- Walking boots, ideally with good ankle support
- Waterproofs (yes it does occasionally rain in Wales), Jacket and Trousers
- Clothing Layers (t-shirt etc)
- Mid Layer (Fleece)
- Hiking Trousers - ideally lightweight quick drying, not jeans
- Small Rucksack
- Extras: Water, Sandwiches for lunch, Snacks, gloves, hat, suncream, sunglasses, notepad and pen.
